Doing the Info Shuffle
Poor 2.0 blog has taken a backseat to training Wiki and Ning. RSS feeder is looking like the Chicago sewer system after a rainstorm. Memos of minutes are stacking up.
Chipping away at helpful newsletter for managers ("Managing People at Work") and found this "Tech Tip": Among the most overlooked time sappers for managers is subscribing to dozens of e-mail services. These so-called 'RSS feeds' may make for diverting reading every morning, but they can deplete much of your time and energy that could be better spent on actual work." Focus on relevant, work-related online reading, he says. But but but ... with a couple of exceptions, all my feeds are work-related. And doesn't he know the distinction between e-mail and feeds from Web sites?
Maybe will stop reading newsletter for managers. Time saved: 10 minutes. Wrote blog item: 10 minutes.
