Thing 6-ish

Microsoft's Office Live promises new features this summer. The site didn't provide much information and the video intros didn't work on the info computer. Google Docs is a more visually friendly site with more accessible info (cute video). Plus I can avoid account proliferation -- and isn't that Google's nefarious little plan, to overload us with options and then give us a helping hand.

But how does the average it's-all-new-to-me user distinguish among these different companies with the same sort of service? If you work with several groups of people using various online office tools, doesn't it get rather confusing, like a technological Babel? That said, Think Free's converter function for turning a document into a pdf or other format is right up front and handy. Its search function for public documents muffed its first test: A search for LATI brought up the Aquafresh Academy with tags including "oral malodour" and "tongue mapping." But you gotta love "Ubiquitous Documentation Platform" from the promo graphic above.

Like Zoho, soho far. See next post.
